Got my 93 home. Under the hood is basically a long block 302, i'm pulling the carb and intake(holley 4 barrel on a weiand stealth intake) and selling them. at least it has new longtubes on it.

It's missing the computer also.

sooo...my options are:
Find stock stuff and get it going
Aftermarket everything as far as ignition and induction
I have a complete 2.3 turbo car i can rape the ECM and engine out of

any thoughts? if i go aftermarket, what's a good route? I'm pretty rusty with mustangs.

thanks

I myself would build the engine (heads/cam/intake) with the carbed set up, depending on if you have emissions or not. Also, if you did that you'd have to make sure you're not running a good-sized carb for that 302.

But if you'd really like to go to fuel injected once again, I'd go the route of returning it to stock first, there's an abundance of stock parts selling for next to nothing, so it wouldn't be that expensive at all to bring it back to stock, then go from there.

Defiantly going back to injected, I hate carburetors.

What computer do i need for a mass air setup on a 93? I'm looking at them on e-bay(already snagged an intake and injectors)

I want to say that the ECU used on the maf mustangs is the A9L eec-iv. I'm not completely sure on that though, and I'm sure someone on here would be able to clarify that one.

Also, you need to match it up to your tranny, as they are different for 5 speeds and automatics.

You might want to visit this web site, www.fordfuelinjection.com (http://www.fordfuelinjection.com). This will give you most of the answers. I am removing a stone stock 302 from my 90 GT to convert it to a 408, so soon that will be available to sell also. Good Luck. r

A9L is right. If your running a 5spd an auto tranny will work. But if the cars an auto then you'll need an auto computer

What he said. If you run an auto and put a 5 speed computer in it, the computer will fry on startup. If your tranny is 5 speed, you can run any computer.

Oh BTW, there are lots of computers that have different codes numbers but are the same as an A9L. Check out the fuel injection site above and look for the EEC numbers.

Personally I would put a turbo 4 in it just to be different. Car would handle better too since it wouldn't be as nose heavy. Of course this is assuming the motor isn't a 79 model turbo 4 that was in the mustang.

You can get a computer from any part store for $120. I have a ton of intakes, T/B, well all the stock stuff. Ill give it to ya so you can get it going. Then down the road pick up some good parts and toss out the junk stuff.

Yes, I have one he can use as a core. I just called to get the price and its $120.00 with core. Or pay $90.00 as a core. We get them all the time for swaps so they come by all the time. We have 3 junk fox cars now + the pinks car.
