Hmmm, mine isn't anything like that....

Mine isn't stiff, it's very tight though, will veer with the slightest turn of the wheel. Thats how it's supposed to be, on demand and responsive, not sloppy and "mushy" like "normal" cars.

x2 (="normal" to me)
If yours is stiff, then maybe your power steering pump is on it's way out?

I have tight steering but it is extremely responsive, which is freakin' fun!

Not to hijack the post, but Sable: You jumped 60HP with underdrive pullies, exhaust and a tune? What aren't you telling? Synthetric lube will help, but c'mon....

Its stiff. Not mushy. A finger can turn the tl with great control. Car has been like that since I bought it new. My toyota I had along time ago was easy too. It might just be that the wheel is to close to the dash (yeah sit closer up- but then my legs are bunched up). . It almost seems as though its a craPpy gear ratio? I thought it might have to do with 9 inch wide wheels?? My friend steve says that its so you are less likey to wreck the car at high speeds? (Wheels are easier to turn at higher speeds with less restriction? Or it could be just a RDW understeer thingy

What? Well in any case, you can't change your steering out without a lot of fab work. You'll just have to get used to the car:tongueout:

Josh, i think you are use to FWD lighter wieght cars. A RWD v8 with bigger rims is going to handle a little bit different then an econo box. ;)

Hahah. The TL gets the same milage I do (well that could be cause the wife is always doing 80.). Also- if anyones ever driven a z24 with konis, springs and and way bars, its strangly close to a mustang. Also is there away to cheaply extend the wheel towards you about an inch? I'd like a gt500 wheel- maybe that would help? Junior- is two weeks enough time to get into your shop in advance?

My vacation is the 14th through 20th I believe. So I should be able to come out thurr tomorrow at some point to have him run up the estimate and hopefully get a little more from farmers just in case. Hopefully hell grant more than 40 for a tail light and I have to order that bumper this week too. Werd up

Sounds like confusion between flywheel HP and wheel HP... A lightweight driveshaft will increase your rwhp but won't change your engine output.

Assuming 15% drivetrain loss (which works out with 265 HP at the flywheel and 220 HP at the wheels for a stock car), you've increased to nearly 325 HP with just pullies, exhaust and a tune? Something's not adding up. I don't think Ford left 60 HP on the table.
Two different dynos on two different days? Two different operators? Have you run the 1320 yet? I'd be interesteed in seeing the times/MPH. (Not trying to be an a$$, just don't see how it can be.)

Maybe the 4.6 motor responds better to those modifications. I've just never seen a car gain 60-70 HP from them before. Learn something new every day. :thumb_beer_cheers:
