i seem to only be able to attach thumbnails

Host them off site at a place you can store them like photobucket.com.
Then, you copy and paste the IMG code into your post.
for example, if you go to the BuckeyeStangs logo on the top left of your screen, you can right click on it then, then click properties, then copy the URL and paste it like this: http://www.buckeyestangs.com/vb/images/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif
If you put on one side, and on the other, then it will display the logo, full size in your post.

Exactly, like 05 OCD said, i use a picture storage service called WEBSHOTS.COM , it allows me to post in forums, or offers a direct link to my photo albums to send to friends, i can alos choose the size to post, heres a recent photo shown at 600 pixels size.....

should have just asked me when you was here. and you can take photobucket and make them small or big. and using the html codes on CL for bigger pics and so on.
