I have an oil leak that I am pretty sure is coming from the rear main seal. I was told this is becasue the pressure in the crankcase is not right. How is the setup supposed to be. I have two breathers on the valve covers. do I need a vacuum to the carb? thanks

How many miles on it, or has it been replaced recently? More often they leak because they are dried up and old. Never heard of it because the crankcase pressure is too high. If the crankcase pressure is that high it would be popping your oil dipstick up out of the tube.

Alright thanks. I'll just replace it then.

on boosted cars with a lack of or poor crankcase ventilation system they will fail due to pressure.... on an N/A car its probably just time....

Alright, I thought maybe because I don't have a vacuum line to a carburator that the pressure is too high or something.

even with a line you wont see vacuum until your out of boost and without a check valve you'll pressurize the crankcase even worse, either way you need a vent system while under boost
