xo rust primer compatibilities

the guy before me rattle canned the whole car w/ xo rust gray primer. i already have bought 2k primer for this car. do i have to take all the xo rust off? or will the 2k cover it without any problems?

I'd probably take it off if you already spent money on the primer you have, just to start from scratch and make sure it's a good job when you're done.
