They have a few schedules on they're website depending on what you're looking for.

I want to find an HPDE where I can drive my own car. When I look at their 'schools events' it all looks like a choice between hondas and hondas:vomit:. Am I reading this wrong?

Yes, they're acura's ;)

From what I saw I don't think there is any other way to race at Mid-Ohio other then attending thru their schooling program, which mind you, is over $1000..

Seems like Nelsons Ledges has quite a few "Fun Days" as they call them which I believe are $105 per person, per day.

I'll go look Nelsons Ledges up. There also may be local clubs that rent Mid-Ohio for track days. I need to go suck up to some Porshe owners <shudder>.

Any date where there is a NASA event is an HPDE I think. BeaveRun has some days, also. Not a NASA event, but you still get an instructor.

Chuck, If you go on svtcobraclub.com, my club puts on 4-5 HPDE's with instructors a year. 2 years ago I did Gingerman, last year, and hopefully again this year, I will run VIR. We have a whole group of guys heading down from c-bus again to VIR. Along with my autocross adiction!

I'm doing at least two track days this year and my usual 6-10 autocrosses. I can't wait to hit the track for the first time.

Thanks guys.

I finally got off the fence and decided to build more of a track car than a drag car. Got Vogtlands, Konis, UCA, LCA, camber plates, and a Watts Link with a new rear sway bar on order. More to come I think.

Now, I understand I have to put these on the car to get the benefit. Do I put them on the hood? Maybe the trunk to improve my weight distribution?

Keep me plugged in to your plans. I guess now that spent all this dough I should actually go to the track sometime ;).

Are you going for sure then? If you are I'll see about scheduling it. The reason I say, "see about..." is Pam will be about 8 months along by that time so..... :spank2:

What have you got on the calendar for Auto-X's. Is it too soon in the season?

I dropped a note to the Ohio Valley SCCA "competition chair" to see if I could get plugged into the HDPEs and Novice License sessions at Mid-Ohio and Nelson Ledges. He mailed me back that he's out of town but would catch up next week.

As for VIR, I am about 90% positive that I will be going. I have a few possible leads on a rollbar, and I am hoping that one of them works out. It is such a good group of guys, and such a learning experience, I will have to hit a serious snag in my schedule for me not to go.

As for auto-x's, I usually just play those by ear, week to week. I would like to try to get to 5-6 this year, pending schedule and budget.

Just getting signed up is proving to be a PITA. Neither SCCA nor NASA have their registration pages up for their spring events.

I was told by an American Iron racer that registration for the MidOhio event usually opens around March 1st. I am waiting (im)patiently.

I will see you there. I just got a mail back from Jim Cannati at NASA who confirmed the same thing.

As fast as these apparently fill up you'd think they'd have a page up months in advance <shrug>. Some of the other regions seem to.

Got a response back from SCCA as well which boiled down to 'call us'.

As much as I check the board(s), I hope I am timely enough to get things done. Still not sure if I will do 2 days or just one. I want to do the 2 day. Just not sure about hotel and what not. Maybe I can camp in my car.

NASA has more info up about the schedule this year. Looks like three Mid-Ohio and one Putnam.

Registration still not open though :beef:

The registration is open for the spring session at Mid-Ohio

Look under the 'Great Lakes Region'. Looks like it is $175/day.

Yeah, I looked into it. I think I'm going to let BeaveRun be my first place to go to. I will be running autocrosses there and maybe some days on the Kart track (yes with my car) this year. I'm going to register for a May Sat at BR soon.

I would love to make one of these events, probably the July event if I can get registered for it. Although registration for the april event is still open, so I will have to check my schedule. I have never went before ( I promised I would pay of the car first) so I just wanted to make sure they provide an instructor right?

Yes, an instructor is included in the price. I was going to go to Mid-Ohio, but the gas would kill me as I'm 2-2.5 hours away. I'm doing BeaveRun first in May.
