MSD cap/Rotor

Well with only a year of racing it failed! On Friday night the car had a Huge Backfire at the track and I lost oil pressure:scared: . First track failure ever.
The rotor broke the screws and the rotor went flying. External oil cooler blew the check ball closed after the back fire.. Had the car towed home and Jason gave us a ride home. Darkhorse and I pulled the motor on Monday and tore it down.
No internal damage,Perfect shape. The forged bottom end payed for it self:rock: Installing new opti,Gaskets and changing the oil pump because that's just me and it's already down. Be up and running by the weekend. LT1 guy's stay away from the MSD cap/rotor set up. If the factory part breaks I'am going deltec.

I ordered a New Opti from the dealer. MSD Sucks! I pulled the 6AL box last year when the car was running 12.20 and the next pass the car went 12.09. They offered me a new cap/rotor if I pay the shipping charges 10/14 days and remove the negative feed back from any car forum's I may have post them on. The tech told me they have now upgraded the screws to allen head,heat treated. A little late now. the car will be running by Saturday.

opti was a junk setup from the get go. we did so much warranty on those when they came out....:beef:
